Birdwatching and Wildlife Vacations in The Gambia

Welcome to my website, I am YaYa Barry, the manager of Kingbirders Bird Watching & Wildlife Vacations. I have been bird watching & leading tours for about 18 years, travelling extensively throughout the length & breadth of
The Gambia & Senegal in search of subjects and rare finds.

The Gambia is the smiling coast of West Africa ~ a former British colony, it is one of the smallest countries in Africa, surrounded by Senegal, and straddling the Gambia River for some 200 miles.

We are home to over 550 resident bird species and another
170 migrants. Bird life here is truly fascinating and guaranteed
to stimulate and amaze both the expert and the amateur birdwatcher alike.

Tours range from half, one, four, seven or fourteen day trips up-country (inland). We cater for individuals, organized groups and photographers (whether beginner or experienced).

We cover both coastal & inland habitats, either staying in a hotel, lodge or camp. All day to day arrangements can be tailor-made to suit your own requirements, and budget. Reliable group transport is available.

I am also Manager at the new Gambia Bird Lodge - just down the coast in Tanji.

" I first met Yaya 12 years ago when he organized locations for a filming project "Birding The Gambia". Since then he's guided & led a number of tours in The Gambia on my behalf. He organizes tours efficiently & gives re-assuring services to his clients.

He is a capable and personable with good local knowledge of productive habitats & has sound field knowledge of Gambian birdlife.

I have pleasure in recommending Yaya Barry as a highly rated, professional bird guide in The Gambia. "
